The use of narration, whether through written text, audio, or projection, is a constant in my works. In this performance, I revisit the theme used in Talking to myself, presented at the Mc Glade Gallery in Sydney six years ago.
The audience sits in a circle, and the action unfolds within the circle. In the center, there is a chair and a mechanical tin bird that flies, describing a repetitive circular motion above the chair. The performance begins when I sit down and remain still for a few minutes. After this time, I distribute the first card, which reads: When was I honest for the last time? Once this card is distributed, I return to the center, but instead of sitting, I attempt to build a sort of sculpture with my body and the chair itself. After a few minutes, I distribute the second card, which reads: When was I tolerant for the last time? The interaction with the chair repeats as I continue to distribute the remaining cards. The bird keeps flying and making a strange noise throughout the entire duration of the action. On the other cards, you can read: When was I generous for the last time? When was I brave for the last time? When was I loyal for the last time?, and When was I happy for the last time? After distributing the last card, I start blowing soap bubbles next to the audience for a few minutes. End of the performance.
