When the XXX Psychodrama Congress invited us to create a performance, the tragedy of the dozens of people losing their lives at sea due to forced migration was a constantly repeated headline. Based on this reality, our performance seeks to reflect on the he profound yet arbitrary impact of birthplace and environment. Embracing the notion of randomness, we decided to employ the same concept that characterizes traditional Bingo, with a twist: turning the prize into a punishment. Thus, instead of receiving a sum of money, the first person in the audience to call Bingo would undergo a brief but intense drowning in a basin of cold water. In this way, for just a few moments, that person could experience the lack of oxygen in an aquatic environment. As a finale, reminiscent of the surreal note in the film The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, we stacked chairs at the exit door. Thus, once the performance concluded, leaving the space would not be as straightforward, creating an experience that evokes the difficulties many people undergo when trying to escape from circumstances.
